Greg LaLonde, CEO of Triplefin, is very clear when stating his aspirations for his company. “We want to be the preeminent supplier of order-to-cash outsourcing services, specifically for pharmaceutical and consumer products companies,” he says. While Triplefin doesn’t manufacture the drugs or the consumer products, they help them through the product lifecycle by getting the various products from the manufacturer to the retailer. He continues, “We bill ourselves as ‘The support behind your brand.’ It’s about how we can influence prescriber behavior to garner greater market share.”
Triplefin was recently recognized by the Cincinnati Business Courier as the region’s fastest-growing company in the $50-99.9 million revenue category. This recognition isn’t surprising when you look at Triplefin’s revenue history: 2004 revenue was $3.9 million; 2005 revenue was $7.4 million; and 2006 revenue was $54 million. Triplefin’s past growth is impressive by any standard, and according to LaLonde, they’re on track to almost double their revenue in 2007, to $105 million.
How does a company manage this kind of growth? The short answer, says LaLonde, is “keeping our eyes on our goal.” And while Triplefin’s growth in 2006 can in part be attributed to their merger with National Patient Services, their future growth will happen not only through mergers and acquisitions, but also through focusing on building new client relationships. In 2006 they added three more Fortune 500 clients to their roster, bringing the total to 11 and you can bet they won’t stop there.
The Wolfe Practice’s Plan for the Future
Jennifer Wolfe
CEO of The
Wolfe Practice
Jennifer Wolfe leads the largest female-owned law firm in the region. The Wolfe Practice has been in business since 2001, and has grown steadily over the past six years. And in 2006, The Wolfe Practice achieved the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Woman-Owned Business of the Year award, no small feat for a practice that began as a one-woman show in Wolfe’s Blue Ash home.
For Wolfe, doing business in Blue Ash wasn’t simply an accident. It was a strategic choice for the firm, says Wolfe. “We attract clients from all over the region, and Blue Ash’s central location makes it easy for us, not only to get to our numerous client locations, but also to the various county courthouses.” Wolfe says the practice is committed to staying in Blue Ash, having recently purchased more than 12,000 square feet of office space on Carver Woods Road. “We love the location, and we’re excited about the redevelopment at the airport,” says Wolfe.
Wolfe is in a unique position, leading the largest woman-owned law firm in the region. It’s a position she created through her passion for the law, and her background in sales and marketing. “I was in sales and marketing prior to going to law school, so I knew what it would take to grow a business,” says Wolfe. Most attorneys don’t have any sales background - and moreover, they have no interest in it. Building a practice takes a lot of marketing effort, and Wolfe was willing to take it on.
The attorneys at The Wolfe Practice offer expertise in business and corporate law and private client services. Wolfe is also expanding her business by registering with large corporations as a woman-owned business. She pointed out that while this distinction helps them get business, they keep the business because they’re good at providing excellent service.
With ten attorneys, the practice is considered a mid-size law firm. And with plans to double their practice to 20 attorneys in the next five years, there’s no danger of The Wolfe Practice losing their standing as the largest woman-owned law firm in the region.
ProSource: Client Needs Come First
Ben Russert
President of
ProSource
Like Blue Ash, ProSource can attribute its growth to decades of focused leadership and planning. This leadership and planning was recently recognized when ProSource was voted 2006 Small Business of the Year by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce. Ben Russert, President of ProSource, has led his company through a seismic shift, transforming it from a copier company — called Pro-Copy Technologies — into a consultative company that assists clients with document workflow and other processes.
As with most successful businesses, ProSource has continued to advance their business by keeping customers at the center of their strategy. Says Russert, “We want to partner with our customers, providing them with solutions, not just equipment. This strategy has been — and will continue to be -— key to our continued growth.”
In addition to further penetrating their existing client base, ProSource plans internal growth. Planting their headquarters in Blue Ash is another key to their growth plans. They own their building, and there is additional space available behind them that allows for future growth. “We came to Blue Ash about 12 years ago because we felt like Blue Ash was the central business district for Cincinnati,” says Russert. “And while that has proven to be true, we also like the easy access Blue Ash provides to our Dayton office, and the 33 counties we serve across the region.” ProSource has grown every year since being in Blue Ash, and have annually needed additional space. “We appreciate the support we receive in Blue Ash,” says Russert. “And the other benefits, like events, the recreation center, and the golf course, help make doing business in Blue Ash even more attractive.”
