Golf Course Clubhouse Gets A Face Lift

At the June 10, 2010 Council meeting, City Council authorized the solicitation of bids for the Golf Course improvements, including construction of a new clubhouse/banquet facility, replacement of the 30-year old irrigation system, and replacement of cart paths. The first phase to be bid will be replacement of the irrigation system, with bids scheduled to be open July 1. It was decided that in order to minimize inconvenience to the golfing public, that all three phases of the course improvements should be done at the same time.

The design of the Clubhouse/Banquet facility is in its final stages. Initial design concepts for a new clubhouse/banquet facility were presented at a Council meeting in late 2009, and in April 2010, an open house was held to seek further public input . Bids are likely to be sought for this portion of the project in late August/early September. If favorable bids are received and Council authorizes the project to move forward, construction could begin as early as late September. The new multi-functional golf clubhouse and banquet facility will have two levels. The lower level includes space primarily geared towards the golf operations and includes an expanded customer service desk area, pro shop, and Sandtrap Sandwich Shop, including outside dining opportunities offering a beautiful view of the course. Dining style is casual on this level, and includes a variety of food items for the golfers from the course. The upper level floor plan represents the banquet facility portion of the facility and is where visitors would enter from Cooper Road/front entrance. Included is space for 350 seats for dining, or more for different seating arrangements to accommodate different types of activities. The space can be divided into three separate areas, or can be used as one room or area for large events.
